MORE ABOUT THE PROJECT:

The project “STEP FORWARD – EU for YOUTH” is the youth exchange financed by the European Commission through Erasmus+, which will take place in Hvalsø, Denmark (around 60 km from Copenhagen) in Denmark between 9-18, 2019. The target group for this exchange is 18-30 years old young people. 9 countries will participate in the project, represented by different partner organizations from Denmark, France, Italy, Poland, Germany, Greece, Portugal, Turkey and Spain.

Skills development is a primary means of enabling young people to make a smooth transition to work. In the digital age, when there is high competition on the labor market young people need to improve their skills and knowledge constantly in order to have good quality jobs and professions. That’s why the YouthPass has its place in the European education system – a part of the European Commission’s strategy to foster the recognition of non-formal learning, putting policy into practice and practice into policy. Youthpass process is a path from experience to the recognition of what is gained; Making young people aware of their potential and chances at the individual level, making learning opportunities much more obvious and strengthening their self-esteem, contributes very much to their growth. It is important that young people recognize their own participation and their own learning journey. Recognizing learning is not just about handing out a certificate at the end of a project, it is above all a process. Youthpass as part of a youth exchange supports young people to learn how to organize and direct their own learning. They become more empowered about their own personal and professional development as a result.

The aim of the Youth Exchange is to raise participant’s awareness and highlight the importance of organizing and recognizing their own learning at large, either while working in an intercultural environment, or at the national and local level and to improve youth employability through raising awareness on Youthpass and main key competencies for lifelong learning.

The objectives of the project:

– To explore the 8 key competences and familiarize with the opportunities of Youthpass
– To support young people self-learning and self-assessment
– To raise awareness about Erasmus+ opportunities for young people
– To encourag young people’s active participation in society, and especially to empower youth to take an active role in their communities and   how they can use the EU’s help in order toput ideas into action

Profile of Participants:

– We invite 5 people from each partner organization (4 participants + 1 group leader)
– Participants who have never participated in Erasmus plus youth exchanges or trainings are welcome, but 1 participant from each country group should have already participated in at least 1 Erasmus plus youth exchanges or trainings.
– 18-30 years of age (only the group leader can be older)
– Gender balance is required!

IMPORTANT: Active participation in all sessions + English speaking abilities is mandatory !

Learning methodology:

We are looking for participants interested/experience in such kind of activities – motivation is very important in the participant selection process.
